Rotterdam Central Station | Human Scale

The long section is showing the spatial quality and the circulation of the journey from the train to the city. As the train slowly approached to the platform, the gigantic shelter with architectural fins created an ambient atmosphere with the diffused natural light. The high headroom and the high technology structure indicates the image of the city. Slowly walking through the shops and heading out of the station, the interior is covered and act as a buffer zone. After passing the gates, the enormous hall with natural light introduced from the sides, the atmosphere is suggesting a powerful atmosphere which provided a strong impression to the visitors. The spatial journey is created through the play of natural light.
