The Salzburg Train Station is been revitalized with new building technology. The original station only consists of the main building in front and a relatively small shelter for the platforms. There were only 2 platforms, which allowed 3 trains to stop at a time. The new structure was introduced, as there is a need of expanding the platforms.. The newer structure is designed with modern technology, glass and aluminium panels. The juxtaposition of the materials is illustrating the context and the evolution of the city. The city does not only preserve and conserve its own identity and history, it is also striving for modern technology and integrate with its context. This can also be seen as a symbol of depicting the vision of the city and the country.
